Help to raise funds for Mwalimu School, Tanzania

Entry to a prize draw for a weeks holiday at Tigh Brachen

In September 2009, I visited Mwalimu's school for which I have been fundraising to help provide funds for the building of the school kitchen.  Once built the World Food Programme will start a food programme for the children at the school.  It was a very humbling experience and I don't think i've have ever met such a happy smiling bunch of kids! It made all the running on long cold winter nights to raise funds for the school very worth while indeed (even though it might not have felt like it at the time in the pouring rain!!!).  While visiting the school I also took some  school items for the kids, which had been kindly donated by family, friends and colleagues, and these were gratefully received, as basically the school had nothing.  Peter, the Head Teacher, asked me not to forget them, and to pass on their thanks for the supplies.  I hope you enjoy the video below about the school.

So the fundraising continues. In March 2010 I plan to run the Reading half marathon, the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2010 , and in July 2010 I will be climbing Kilimanjaro with a group of friends, raising funds for the school.  So the training is in full swing! 

To help raise funds, anyone who makes a minimum donation of £5 via the link below, will be entered into a prize draw for a weeks FREE HOLIDAY at Tigh Brachen for the week of 5th - 11th March 2011.  The more you donate, the more entries you have in the draw, e.g. a £20 donation will entitle you to 4 entries into the draw.  So if you would like to enter, please follow the Just Giving link below.  Please ensure when completing your donation you enter your full name and email address, so that I can contact you should you be the lucky winner.   Entry into the prize draw will close on 31 July 2010.  The draw will take place on the 1 August 2010 and the winner will be notified by email.
